Tier explanations

Meta Defining: These characters are such good additions to their respective elements that they can pretty much always fit into a team composition. Every 5* Eternal can be considered to be Meta-Defining.

Core: Characters that are great additions to any team, and tend to complement each other (or the Meta-Defining character in their element) well.

Very Helpful: Characters that are solid, yet aren't as strong as characters that are core. They're worth using if you don't have better characters yet, or if you just love the character and want to have them on your team.

Sometimes Helpful: Characters that are useable, but will most likely be replaced as you get better characters from the Premium Draw. They usually fill a certain role that either isn't needed in their element, or that other characters can fill much better.

Special Utility: Exactly what it sounds like. Characters that overall aren't worth using, but who might still have some utility that can be used for certain setups/situations. Use them until you get better characters, or if you want/need something special that they can provide (e.g. Yodarha's plain damage).

No Real Uses: These characters both aren't good enough to fit into a team comp, nor do they bring anything niche to the table that other characters can't.

Borderline: When a character isn't quite good enough to fit into one tier, but is too useful to fit in the tier below, they go into a Borderline tier. Borderline tiers range from 1-3, with Borderline 1 being the highest and Borderline 3 being the lowest.
Example: someone in Borderline 2 falls just short of being Core, but not enough so to drop them down into Very Helpful.
